Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you use the Services, what you choose to provide, and which features you use. We collect information in three primary ways
A. Information you provide to us
You may provide information when you create an estate plan, complete questionnaires, upload documents, create an account, purchase Services, respond to surveys or promotions, or communicate with support by phone, chat, email, or other channels.
Categories of information you may provide include:
- Contact and account information: Name, mailing address, phone number, email address, username, password, and other account credentials.
- Government issued identifiers: For example, driver's license information, passport number, or other government identification that you submit for verification, fraud prevention, or compliance purposes, where offered.
- Financial and transaction information: Purchase history, payment method details, billing address, and other transaction data. Payment card information is generally processed by our payment processors. We do not store full payment card numbers unless we clearly disclose that we do so.
- Customer support interaction information: Messages submitted through online forms, email, chat, and records of support interactions. Calls or video sessions may be recorded or summarized for quality, training, and compliance purposes where permitted by law and where disclosed.
- Surveys and promotions: If you participate, you may provide basic contact information and responses relevant to the survey or promotion.
- Content you upload or submit: Information entered into forms and questionnaires, files and documents uploaded, reviews, and any other content you submit. Depending on what you provide, this may include sensitive personal information as defined by certain laws.
- Information about other individuals: Information you enter about beneficiaries, fiduciaries, agents, guardians, executors, trustees, and family members, such as name, contact details, date of birth, relationship, and similar details. You are responsible for ensuring you have authority and permission to provide information about other people.
B. Information collected automatically
When you use the Services, we and our service providers may collect information automatically through cookies and similar technologies.

- Device and network information: IP address, device identifiers, browser type, operating system, language settings, internet service provider, and related technical data.

- Partners and data sources: Business partners, marketing partners, researchers, analysts, social media services, government databases, public record aggregators, and other sources that help us maintain accurate records and improve Services.
- Social login providers: If you sign in through a third party platform, that platform may provide us certain data such as name, email address, or profile information based on your settings with that platform.
D. Information provided by professional partners
If a professional partner uses the Services in connection with supporting you, we may receive personal information from that partner, including documents they upload for your benefit. Professional partners are responsible for obtaining appropriate permission before providing your information to us.
How we use information
We use information for the following purposes.
A. Provide and operate the Services
We use information to:
- Create and deliver the estate planning outputs you request
- Create, administer, and maintain your account
- Process payments and transactions
- Verify identity where needed
- Provide member support and respond to requests
- Enable features you choose, including sharing features where you direct us to share your plan
- Concierge style support: If offered, and at your direction, authorized support personnel may access your account to view or update information to help you. Support interactions may be recorded or stored for quality and compliance where permitted.
B. Communicate with you
We use information to communicate with you by email, phone, or text, such as:
- Account and transactional messages
- Product and feature updates
- Service announcements
- Changes to terms, policies, and notices
C. Marketing, advertising, and analytics
We may use information to:
- Send newsletters and promotional communications where permitted
- Measure campaign performance
- Understand user engagement
- Personalize marketing on and off the Services as allowed by law
D. Personalization

A. Analytics
We may use third party analytics services, including tools such as Google Analytics, to understand how users interact with the Services. These providers may collect information such as device data, usage data, and approximate location. You can often limit analytics through browser settings, device settings, and available opt out mechanisms provided by analytics vendors.
B. Advertising
We aim to promote Estate Vault in a relevant way. We may work with advertising partners to measure the effectiveness of ads and to show Estate Vault ads on other websites, platforms, and applications. These partners may use cookies, pixels, or similar technologies to recognize your device and infer interests based on activity.
We do not control third party tracking on third party properties. Opt out choices are described in Section 7.
Opt out scope: Many opt outs apply per browser and per device. If you use multiple browsers or devices, you may need to set preferences on each.
Children's privacy
The Services are intended for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 18 for their own use of the Services. You may enter information about your minor children as part of creating your plan, and we use that information only to provide the Services you request.
If we learn that we have collected personal information directly from a child under 18 in violation of applicable law, we may delete it.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information. These can include the right to request:

- Email: You can unsubscribe using the link in marketing emails or by contacting us. You may still receive transactional and administrative messages.
- Text messages: If you receive marketing texts, you can reply STOP to opt out. Administrative messages may still be sent where permitted.
Targeted advertising and sales or sharing opt out
Where required by law, you may opt out of certain disclosures considered sales or sharing for targeted advertising by using our cookie and privacy settings tools where available, and by adjusting device and browser settings.
Appeals

This section applies only to California residents and supplements the rest of this Privacy Policy. It describes our practices under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, also known as the CCPA.

"Personal information" and "sensitive personal information" have the meanings set by the CCPA.

"Sharing" generally means disclosing personal information for cross context behavioral advertising.

- Internet or network activity: Examples — browsing and usage data, device identifiers, cookie IDs. Business purposes — analytics, security, personalization, advertising measurement.
- Approximate geolocation: Examples — city and state derived from IP address. Business purposes — security, analytics, advertising measurement.
- Audio and visual information: Examples — call recordings or chat records where permitted. Business purposes — support, quality assurance, compliance. We generally do not sell audio and visual information.
- Information about others included in your plan: Examples — beneficiary or agent details you enter. Business purposes — generating your plan and related features. We generally do not sell or share this category for advertising.
- Inferences: Examples — inferred preferences based on interactions. Business purposes — personalization, product improvement, marketing.
C. Categories of recipients
We disclose personal information to:
- Service providers and vendors that help operate the Services
- Analytics and advertising partners for measurement and marketing

- Law enforcement or regulators where required by law
D. Sales and sharing opt out
California residents have the right to opt out of selling and sharing of personal information. Where applicable, you may exercise this right through our cookie and privacy settings tools. We also honor legally recognized opt out preference signals where required.
E. Right to limit use of sensitive personal information
Where applicable, California residents may have the right to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that require a right to limit beyond what is permitted under the CCPA, except as disclosed in this policy.
F. Shine the Light
California residents may request information about certain disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Contact us using the information in Section 14.
International transfers
Estate Vault operates in the United States and may process and store information in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. If you use the Services, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than your place of residence.
Security and storage
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
Account security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password. Log out and close your browser when finished using shared devices.
Infrastructure
We may use reputable cloud service providers and security tools to host and protect the Services. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Retention
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in law, technology, business practices, or the Services. We will post the updated policy and revise the effective date above. If required, we will provide additional notice through the Services or other communication channels.
